The Ministry of Education has officially announced the release of the 2025 Kenya Junior Secondary Education Assessment (KJSEA) results, opening access to millions of learners, parents and schools across the country.
Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos confirmed the release on Thursday afternoon, noting that candidates can now check their results through either the Ministry’s online portal or an SMS service.
According to the Ministry, those wishing to access the results online should visit the selection portal at https://kjsea.knec.ac.ke where they will be required to enter the learner’s assessment number in the designated field. The system will display the results instantly once the details are submitted.
For learners and parents without internet access, the Ministry has provided an SMS option. To view selected schools via text message, users should send the learner’s assessment number to 22263. Each SMS will cost Sh30.
“Learners will be required to enter the assessment number and any one of their names as per their registration data for the 2025 KJSEA assessment. The results will be accessed immediately after this session. I hereby declare the 2025 KJSEA examinations officially released,” Migos announced.
Speaking during the release, Basic Education PS Stephen Ogamba highlighted that the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) continues to be implemented progressively through the education system , two years in pre-primary, six years in primary school, three years in junior school and three years in senior school.
He noted that the rollout of Competency-Based Education represents a significant milestone in the transformation of Kenya’s education sector, ensuring learners build practical skills and competencies throughout their academic journey.
The Ministry encouraged all learners and parents to use the official channels only, reminding the public that the government does not release results through third-party websites or unauthorized platforms.
