As the world continues to fight the spread of the deadly
Covid-19 virus, Kenya has 123 new infections.

Of the 123, Nairobi County leads with 44 new infections
followed by Mombasa with 34. Busia and Uasin Gishu counties have 20 and 12
Coronavirus cases respectively, with all being truck drivers. The cases in
Busia involve truck drivers at the Malaba Border Point while those in Uasin
Gishu are from Turbo.

On case distribution in Nairobi sub-counties, Kibra has ten
new Covid-19 cases with Westlands following closely with nine new infections. Dagoreti
and and Embakasi West each have four cases, while Makadara, Langata, and
Embakasi South account for three cases each.

Out of the new cases, 90 are males while 33 are females with
the youngest patient being 8 years old and the eldest being 84.

However, three more people have succumbed to Covid-19, two
from Nairobi County and one from Nyeri, bringing the death toll to 74.

Speaking during the daily Ministry of Health briefings, CAS
Rashid Aman explained that the country has two operational mobile laboratories
at Namanga and Naivasha to test truckers and provide results faster than
before, which will improve the flow of cargo trucks in the northern corridor.

Aman urged Kenyans to continue following government
directives to prevent a surge in cases of Coronavirus, noting that people in
Nairobi are getting back to normalcy with some flouting preventive measures against
the disease and others opening entertainment joints.

He explained that restaurants are the only premises allowed to
open after they meet the guidelines stipulated by the government to prevent the
spread of the virus.
