HELSINKI, Finland – Mr Jeff Ninja has released “Leo”, a new tune to cap off a successful year that many music lovers have referred to as a “banger in prospect”.

Over the years, the Mother-in-law actor has lived up to his reputation as someone with a talent for creating catchy tunes with his distinctive, sensuous, honeyed vocals and addictive Afrofusion drumming.

Out now, ‘Leo’, a 3:26-minute video, proves his ability to stretch, with the star switching up between Swahili and English.

‘Leo’ essentially translates as ‘today’, and in it, Ninja essentially advises on the standards of how people should party and have fun alongside their loved ones. Actually, the video features dancing and a party atmosphere.

“Today, everybody is singing about women and club partying. But in the spirit of bringing party-lovers together and having them in a happy mood, I realised there was a dire need to create the mood of happiness and sharing good moments with brothers and sisters in every place that we are having this kind of fun,” Mr Jeff Ninja told news9.africa.

He further disclosed that he emphasised what happiness should be like.

‘Leo’ loosely translates to ‘today’, and so happiness should come today and not tomorrow. Happiness should not be delayed for more than one day,” he explained.

Why did Mr. Jeff Ninja sing ‘Leo’ in Swahili

He revealed that the video cost less than half a million shillings.

The fast-rising musician added, “I don’t want to sound like a braggadocio, but the song cost me 3,800 euros (Sh450,000), if I may be precise.”

The celebrated Kenyan-born actor, who currently resides in Finland with his family, said that he settled for Swahili in the song as a result of his fan base.

“I chose to sing in Swahili because most of my fan base is in East Africa, Kenya in particular, and they are more conversant in Swahili than they are in English and Finnish. But it’s just a starting project, and so in future I am hoping to do songs in Finnish and English and the afro-pop music genre,” explained Mr Jeff Ninja.

Why did Mr. Jeff Ninja include his family in ‘Leo’

After considering the song’s theme, Ninja disclosed to news9.africa that he included his family in it.

“My wife and family featured in the song because it is a happy song that brings happy feelings, and I know that my wife and kids are part of the happiness that comes to my life and the people that we inspire, and that is why I featured them in this particular video,” Ninja stated.

Written and produced by Mr Jeff Ninja, this song has an unmistakable presence in the charts. It’s even more alluring visually now, making it even more outstanding.

Shot and directed by Ville Pohjonen, the song’s unapologetically visually appealing music video showcases Mr Jeff Ninja in a vibrant, party-atmosphere setting and a glamorous setting, making it a must-watch.
