He says the ‘thieves’ have been engaging in criminal activities in parts of Lavington, Milimani and other areas.

He says the fire arms were stolen from a certain business enterprise in Kitale town, and belonged to the owner.

He is therefore warning businessmen to keep in mind the right qualities when recruiting staff, revealing that the suspects apprehended are workers in the said business enterprise.

“I want to warn all employees to keep in mind the staff they are employing in their firms, and to work in tandem with the police to ensure they hire people without criminal records,” Gitonga.

The Commander says they are interrogating the suspects and so far have gathered vital information which will help to unearth the crime syndicate that has been operating in Trans Nzoia County. He has urged residents to continue sharing any information that will prove useful in taming crime and arresting criminals.

He noted that the criminals are known by the public and they live among them. The arrested suspects will be arraigned in court as investigations continue.
