At least seven pupils have died following a tragic
wall incident at Precious Talent Academy in Ng’ando along Ngong Road on Monday.
The incident which occurred at 6.45 am saw the
school building wall collapse, injuring more than 64 pupils.
Addressing journalists at the scene, Education
Cabinet Secretary Professor George Magoha said the government will ensure that
every child is safe in any environment he stays.
“This single tragic incident must not be used to instill
fear in our children; the government is going to assure safety of all our
children irrespective of where they come from,” said CS Magoha.

The CS confirmed that the 64 injured were taken to
the hospital and are in stable condition.
Precious Talent Academy has a pupil population of
800 and according to Magoha, 600 of them have so far undergone safety check.
He also confirmed that the school will be closed for
four days as security is conducted to ensure the children’s safety.
“We have asked the pupils to stay at home for
four days as we put everything in check to ensure they are safe here,” he
said.
Majority of the injuries sustained by the pupils are
cuts and fractures.
The Permanent Secretary of Education, Belio Kipsang
and other stakeholders are also at the scene.
