LUGARI, Kenya – Outspoken Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has taken issue with Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, accusing him of failing to get answers on the whereabouts of the late former Lugari MP Caleb Amisi.
Speaking during Jirongo’s funeral service at Lumakanda Township Primary School grounds on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, MP Amisi observed that it was the responsibility of Mudavadi to seek answers from President Ruto on the death of the former Cabinet minister.

“Today is the day of telling each other nothing but the truth. The Luhya community is known as a peaceful community,” said the youthful Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) MP.
He lamented over the mysterious deaths of other leaders from the Luhya community, like Chris Msando, the former Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Information and Communications director, who was found tortured and murdered just weeks before polling day.
The vocal MP also mentioned the mysterious death of businessman Jacob Juma, whose body was found lying in a pool of blood on Ngong Road in Nairobi.
“We have always kept quiet over some of these deaths. Now, we have lost Cyrus Jirongo, and some people want us to keep quiet, but we want to tell them that we won’t stay silent anymore. This is the last Luhya you are going to destroy, and we keep quiet,” MP Amisi said.
The lawmaker who has always distanced himself from the broad-based government pleaded with all the leaders in the ruling Kenya Kwanza administration to find answers in connection with Jirongo’s death.
“We have a piece of history, and we have gone through it. When former president Daniel Moi (now deceased) wanted to expel Musalia Mudavadi from his government, it was Jirongo who went to face the then-head of state head-on and told him to leave Musalia alone,” claimed MP Amisi.
Why Musalia Mudavadi should confront President Ruto
In his own words, the MP serving a second term in Parliament went on:
“Musalia, it is your responsibility to face William Ruto head-on and tell him to come out clean on the death of Jirongo. We are not gambling because it is your responsibility as the senior-most Luhya leader in government.”
According to MP Amisi, a friend is someone who stands with you in times of need.
“Jirongo defended you before Moi; it is your responsibility to face William Ruto and ask him who killed Cyrus Jirongo. God bless you,” added the lawmaker.
