TRANS NZOIA, Kenya – It’s a new beginning for a little girl who was captured on camera performing the ‘Tawe’ sign during Governor George Natembeya’s rally in the county.

The Tawe Movement, which is mostly linked to Governor Natembeya, is a grassroots political movement and, more precisely, a wave of rebellion that started in Western Kenya. “Tawe” is a Luhya word that means “No” in a stern and emphatic manner.

In photos that have now gone viral and been seen by news9.africa, the little girl, identified as Favour Wangare from Kahuho, Makutano Ward, Cherang’any Constituency, can be seen with crossed hands in what appears to be Governor Natembeya’s political push to secure a second term in office.

During the rally in Makutano, Cherang’any Constituency, the 11-year-old Favour wore a black jumper and could be seen being raised above the crowd by an unknown individual (s).

Kenyans react to the viral photos

news9.africa sampled some of the reactions from Kenyans who saw the trending photos of Favour.

Rasto Murunga posted:

“What a powerful act of compassion by George Natembeya. In a world where many leaders turn a blind eye, you chose to step in and change a life. Favour now has hope, and that is priceless. Congratulations, Governor, for showing true leadership with a human touch.”

Renson Waliaula Mauka said:

“A picture with a thousand words, rich kids cannot lock.”

Charles Mwalo added:

“What a slogan for the young kid. If she can trust Natembeya’s word fully, tusimwangushe, please. Natembeya, help her fully. God has proven that what you speak to the Nation through this young girl is true. Asante sana for your step; support her. Thanks.”

Gladys Makokha noted:

“Thanks for that heart, commando…I always tell namuniokholo but they don’t understand…none among them can have a heart like yours and your people’s…never will they forever.”

“Power of the name…Favour is her name…all favours of this world will locate her!”

Davis Barasa wrote:

“Very nice, kingpin. Bado watasema wewe ni mkabila. Hatuskizi hiyo buana.”

news9.africa has established that after Governor Natembeya announced that he had adopted her, Favour was identified as a Grade 6 pupil at St Elizabeth Mission School, Kahuho.

She is the daughter of Sarah Chebet, a single mother who does manual jobs for survival.
