Tottenham have agreed a deal with Jose Mourinho to replace
Mauricio Pochettino as manager, after the club sacked him (Pochettino) on
Tuesday evening.

The former Chelsea and Manchester United manager takes over
the North London club for a three-and-a-half year deal.

Mourinho takes over Spurs, who are currently placed at 14th
in the Premier League table, with West Ham United being his first job this
weekend.

Mirror sports report that, Pochettino was sacked after a
disjointed start to the season that has seen spurs stutter since reaching
June’s Champions League final, which they lost to Liverpool.

“We are delighted to announce the appointment of Jose Mourinho
as Head Coach on a contract that runs until the end of the 2022/23 season,”
read part of spurs statement.

The statement continues, “Jose is one of the world’s
most accomplished managers having won 25 senior trophies.

“He is renowned for his tactical prowess and has
managed FC Porto, Inter Milan, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester United.

Mourinho’s caliber

“He has won a domestic title in a record four different
countries (Portugal, England, Italy and Spain) and is one of only three
managers to have won the UEFA Champions League twice with two clubs, FC Porto
in 2004 and Inter Milan in 2010.

“He is also a three-time Premier League Champion with
Chelsea (2005, 2006, and 2015).”

Spurs Chairman Daniel Levy said Jose Mourinho has wealth of
football management experience which can inspire the club.

“In Jose we have one of the most successful managers in
football. He has a wealth of experience, can inspire teams and is a great
tactician,” said Levy.

The club has confident in Maourinho that he can bring energy
and belief to the dressing room.

Pochettino’s next
move

Speaking after his appointment, Mourinho said: “I am excited
to be joining a Club with such a great heritage and such passionate supporters.

“The quality in both the squad and the academy excites
me. Working with these players is what has attracted me.”

Meanwhile, Transfer rumour has it that Mauricio Pochettino
could replace Unai Emery from Arsenal, following the clubs poor performance.
