Karangu Muraya’s name has once again lit up the gossip columns and social media feeds.
This time, not because of a charity drive or his moving gospel ballads, but because of a leaked audio clip that has left Kenyans divided, shaking their heads and whispering about the embattled singer’s turbulent love life.
In the clip, Triza Njeri, his first wife, can be heard confronting him over his relationship with his second wife, Carol Kim. Her voice carries the frustration of a woman pushed to the edge, laced with threats that shocked many listeners. Karangu, on the other hand, sounded calm, almost detached, brushing aside her anguish as though it were nothing more than idle talk. Within hours, the audio was everywhere, Facebook, TikTok, WhatsApp groups, you name it and Karangu’s marriage was once again playing out like a reality show on the country’s largest digital stage.
When the heat became unbearable, Karangu turned to the very platforms that have amplified his struggles. He went live, face swollen from tears, his voice breaking as he begged the public to leave him alone. Instead of quieting the storm, the broadcast only seemed to fuel the fire, sparking memes, opinion threads and endless debates about his choices.
Yet, in the midst of the jeers and finger-pointing, Peter Miracle Baby has risen to his support.
The musician, known for his bluntness and raw storytelling, took to his social media pages to remind Kenyans of a side of Karangu that the scandals often bury. He posted old photos from a hospital bed, showing Karangu seated beside him at a time when he was sick, abandoned and ridiculed.
“Even if the whole country turns against him, I will stand by this man,” Miracle Baby declared.
“When I was at my lowest, he came. When others laughed, he stayed. I cannot sit back and watch him be torn apart. His good deeds outweigh the bad, and God alone knows his heart.”
The post stirred emotions. Some applauded him for loyalty, saying Karangu’s philanthropy like feeding widows, educating orphans, raising money for patients should never be forgotten because of personal failings. Others argued that kindness to the public does not erase mistakes at home. The divide was clear: hero to some, hypocrite to others.
Karangu’s life has never been simple. His polygamous marriage has been an endless source of speculation, drama and now, alleged betrayals. Even as he denies leaking the damning audio, Triza has pointed an accusing finger at Carol, sparking yet another storm inside his already complicated household. Carol, for now, remains silent, leaving room for even more gossip.
Still, amid all the noise, one truth rings loudly: Karangu’s personal life continues to grip the nation, not just because of the scandal, but because of the paradox he embodies. A man celebrated for lifting others from despair, yet constantly battling demons in his own home. A gospel singer whose songs preach hope, yet whose marriage tells a story of heartbreak and chaos.
As the saga unfolds, Kenyans are left wrestling with a difficult question, should a man’s public generosity shield him from criticism over private failings, or should both sides of his life be judged in equal measure?
