Embakasi
East Member of Parliament Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino was arrested on Friday
morning following scuffle at club in Kilimani Area, Nairobi.
A
witness who sought anonymity said the legislator shot the DJ and rushed to help
him get to a medical facility.
“We
were able to identify the disks jockey as DJ Evolve who works for B- Club. Babu
Owino was thereafter arrested and is being held at Kilimani Police Station
following the fatality.”
The
victim has been admitted at Nairobi Hospital at the Intensive Care Unit. We are
yet to establish what led to the shooting.
The
DCI said in a tweet, “Detectives based at Kilimani have today arrested Hon Paul
Ongili alias Babu Owino, Member of Parliament for Embakasi East following a
shooting incident at B Club located along Galana Road within Kilimani.
The
MP is in lawful custody as further investigation continue”
