KCA University board of trustees appoints new Chancellor

The board of trustees of KCA University has appointed Prof
Olive Mugenda as the University’s new Chancellor.

The former Kenyatta University Vice Chancellor shall be
taking over from Prof Arthur Eshiwai, whose contract as the varsity’s
chancellor ended on December 31, 2019.

Mugenda will be installed today at KCA main campus in
Ruaraka, Nairobi.

A statement by the university affirmed their trust in her
ability to lead the institution in higher levels of research and academics.

“With profound leadership of Prof Olive Mugenda, the
university looks forward to fully exploit is potential in areas of academic and
research,” read part of the statement from the Communications Officer, Isaiah
Were.

Olive Mugenda is not new to university leadership. She has led
Kenyatta University for more than 10 years as the Vice Chancellor.

She is a professor of family and consumer sciences from Iowa
University in the United States.

As a professor, Mugenda won a number of awards for her exemplary
performance.
