Kenyan Hip Hop artist King Kaka has been summoned by the Directorate
of Criminal Investigation (DCI), a day after Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguri
asked him to pull down Wajinganyinyi song from his social media sites.
In a tweet seen by News 9 Kenya, Kaka writes that “I have
just been summoned by The CID,” a move culminated by the defamatory letter from
Governor Waiguru on Monday.
I have just been summoned by The CID.

The governor argues, in the letter drafted by his legal
team, that the song is reckless and malicious.
She further demanded that the rapper should offer an
apology, write a full and unconditional admission of liability and a commitment
not to release any further defamatory words against her.
King Kaka was also warned against redistribution of the song
as it will result in a fresh defamatory action.
However, Kenyans have stood firm to defend the spoken word star,
adding that he projected nothing but truth about the ills in the country’s
leadership.
Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi said no one was defamed
in the song, adding that he is ready to give legal representation to the artist
against anyone who sues him.
“I said and I repeat..I will give legal representation to
King Kaka against ANYONE who sues him for the lyric Wajinga Nyinyi….UGLY, CRASS
and LEWD commentaries on society are PRIVILEGED,” he said on Twitter.
Lawyer Nelson also said that the Governor should know that
the ill-conceived suit will be defended strenuously at her expense and costs.
It is obvious how this will end.
