The high court has lifted an order preventing Migori Govenor
Okoth Obado from moving past 20km of Migori-Homa Bay border.

During the bond review case, the judge allowed Obado to move
freely within his county to perform his duties.

Obado’s laywer Kioko Kilokumi stated that the governor could
not traverse the county to deliver his mandate due to the court order and reiterated
that Obado would not in any way interfere with the witnesses.

“…It is only fair that the terms be reviewed to allow him do
his work…the 20km radius restriction bars the governor from effectively serving
all the people in Migori and makes it impracticable for him to discharge his duties
as the govenor,” said Kilokumi.

The governor is accused
of killing Rongo University student Sharon Otieno in September 2018.

The court
ordered him not to go anywhere near the border of Homa Bay and Migori counties
after Sharon’s parents complained about being threatened.
