NAIROBI, Kenya – Outspoken Saboti Caleb Amisi has strongly defended Winnie Odinga, the daughter of the late former prime minister Raila Odinga, over her recent remarks about the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
Taking to his official social media accounts on Saturday, November 15, 2025, MP Amisi termed Winnie as the pillar of her father, who passed away from a suspected heart attack at a health clinic in southern India on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

“Winnie Odinga has been the pillar of her father. Baba died in her hands. I have seen her endure teargas and shield the father from political mandarins,” Amisi posted.
During the ongoing ODM@20 celebrations in Mombasa, Winnie sparked a fiery online debate after she said that the same people during the day purport to speak for the party, but at night have ill intentions for the party.
Winnie further noted that ODM was born out of street protests and bloodshed and not bedroom and pillow talks, and that will not be the way of the party.

But in a quick rejoinder, Kileleshwa Member of County Assembly (MCA) Robert Alai accused Winnie of lacking political experience and questioned her right to criticise fellow leaders within the Orange outfit.
What Robert Alai said about Winnie Odinga
“Winnie Odinga doesn’t have the political experience to give anyone direction in ODM. She isn’t even a party official. THE fact that you are the daughter of Baba Raila Odinga doesn’t give you the right to insult female leaders in ODM by saying that they are sleeping with Ruto to sell the party IN BEDROOMS.”

However, MP Amisi, who appears dissatisfied with the party’s current standing in broad-based politics and wants it to continue with its opposition stand, called out his ODM colleagues who were opposed to Winnie’s outburst.
“These Ruto-sponsored ODM nincompoops insulting her for daring the ODM sell-out only show how Baba was surrounded with parasites and not disciples! Most current ODM leaders really never believed in Baba’s ideals. It is unravelling now and so fast,” added MP Amisi.
What the wrangles mean to the ODM@20
The youthful lawmaker serving his second term in Parliament maintained that he will go out of his way to protect the Orange party.
“You can kill and sell the party to Ruto, but you shall never kill the dream of Raila for a better Kenya as long as Caleb is around. A time is coming when we will separate boys from men. Kenya needs a renaissance!” MP Amisi explained.
These recent disputes coincide with the ODM 20th anniversary celebrations at Mama Ngina Waterfront, which were supposed to be a unifying factor but now seem to show flaws in the party’s direction.
