The health docket of Nairobi County will remain vacant after
the failure of Dr. Stella Bosire to appear for the vetting on Monday after
being nominated by the county governor Mike Sonko.
Nairobi Acting county assembly speaker Chege Mwaura said
that Ms Bosire did not submit her papers for vetting.
“She did not submit her papers for vetting as required and
we assumed she is not interested in the vetting,’ said Ms Mwaura.
She was among the five females who were nominated by the
county governor to fill up the positions that are vacant in the cabinet.
Dr. Bosire’s response revealed her discontentment with the
leadership of the governor and cited issues that need to be addressed before
she can take up such position. In her opinion, Mike Sonko being so rough with no
respect to professionalism.
She also wishes for a better Nairobi where leaders are
transparent and accountable especially in allocating resources across the
county.
“It is unfortunate, but I will serve Kenyans in other
positions,” she said.
The governor has said that he will nominate someone else for
the position, sating such cases are normal and it will not affect the
operations of the sector.
“Dr. Bosire was referred to me as a well-grounded person in
health. I felt she is fit for the position. I will however nominate someone
else for that position,” said the governor.
