The committee formed by President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga to oversee the rollout of the ten-point agenda and the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) report has finalized its initial report and is now preparing to engage the public and stakeholders.
Chaired by ODM-nominated Senator Agnes Zani, the five-member team announced on Friday that it has established five sub-committees to guide consultations across the country.
Policy analyst Javas Bigambo was elected as the vice-chair. Other members include Fatuma Ibrahim, Gabriel Oguda and Kevin Kiarie.
“The committee has organized its operations, elected Javas Bigambo as vice-chair and formed five sub-committees through which the public and stakeholders will be engaged,” the committee said in a statement.
According to the statement, the committee’s mandate is to carry out inclusive consultations with diverse groups, including government ministries, independent commissions, civil society organizations, trade unions, community representatives and minority groups. The goal is to ensure the effective implementation of the NADCO report and the ten-point agenda signed by UDA and ODM.
On August 6, President Ruto and Mr. Odinga appointed the five-member team, entrusting it with transforming their political agreement into concrete national outcomes.
In addition to the committee, a joint secretariat co-led by executive secretaries from both parties has been established to provide technical and operational support.
The committee invited the public and stakeholders to participate in a series of forums, which will be announced in the coming days.
