Saturday was yet another day for political speeches and lash across the country with war on graft taking the centre stage.

Deputy President William Ruto was not lucky enough following his recent remarks on the dam scandal and drought in the country.

The lash first came from his political turf, where he was accused for tainting the name of the community for his own benefits.

Led by KANU Chairman Gideon Moi, a section of leaders from the rift tore Ruto from the rift in what they termed as soiling the integrity of the community.

“The integrity of the community should be guarded and nobody should be allowed to taint it.” said Mr. Moi, the Baringo Senator.

KANU Secretary General also accused Ruto and his allies for hiding behind the community in doing their deeds.

Former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto called for respect for the president and support to corruption war.

“There is nothing to do with our community in the ongoing graft war, but fight against theft of resources that is threatening to deny Kenyans developments.” said Salat.

The second lash came from a section of Jubilee leaders from Central Kenya.

Led by Maina Kamanda, the leaders dared Ruto to quit if he feels dissatisfied by the presidents’ fight against corruption.

“You cannot tell which party we will support in 2022 because if our party is branded a party of thieves, we will move out,” said Kamanda.

The MPs Wambugu Ngunjiri (Nyeri Town), Paul Koinange (Kiambaa), Denis Waweru (ex-Dagoretti) and nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura reiterated that Central had no political debt with the DP and would choose the right leader when the time comes.

ODM MPs led by party chairman John Mbadi also tore the DP and urged President Kenyatta not to relent in the fight against graft.

“We are behind President Uhuru in this graft war. Let the President not accept any intimidation or blackmail in this war.”
