The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) said it received a communique from the federation, regarding recent governance-related developments within the Federation involving members of the National Executive Committee.

In a statement seen by New Nine, FKF noted that FIFA called for strict adherence of the FKF constitution in the administration of the federation.

“In its correspondence, FIFA reaffirmed the importance of strict adherence to the FKF Constitution and established governance procedures in matters relating to the administration and leadership of the Federation,” read the statement released on Tuesday, May 26, in part.

FKF highlighted FIFA’s emphasis on institutional stability, due process, restraint, and the need for all football stakeholders to operate within the recognised constitutional framework at all times.

The federation welcomed FIFA’s guidance and committed to safeguarding the stability, credibility, and proper functioning of Kenyan football, particularly during this important period for the game both locally and internationally.

FKF said it remains fully operational and committed to upholding the principles of good governance, constitutional order, transparency, and institutional integrity in the management of football in Kenya.

It also noted that it will continue to work within its constitutional structures and in cooperation with FIFA and CAF to ensure continuity across all football activities and programmes.
