The Qatar Olympic Committee in partnership with World Athletics, have launched an initiative dubbed ‘Aim Beyond’, a programme aiming at empowering youth and underserved countries around the world through sports.

Youths across the globe, especially those who want to scale the heights of sports, will be able to see their dream materialise in future.
This comes after the Qatar Olympic Committee teamed up with the World Athletics through the new initiative ‘Aim Beyond’ vow to introduce game changer infrastructure.
Speaking during the ‘Aim Beyond ‘ initiative launch, World Athletics CEO Jon Ridgeon stated that the world of Athletics has abundant talents, but the problem is a lack of enough facilities.
“In many countries around the world, athletic talent is abundant, but facilities are not – and that’s where Aim Beyond makes its mark. Partnership drive out mission to make athletics accessible and inspiring for all, and collaboration between World Athletics, QOC and Qatar Fund for Development is exactly the kind of strategic, human-centred teamwork our sport needs,” he explained.
Where new running tracks will be built
Ridgeon added that the new running tracks that are going to be built in the 11 states, Ukraine, Tanzania, Anguilla, Palestine, Moldova, Burundi, Panama, Cook Islands, Dominica, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan, will act as places for nurturing athletes’ talents and supporting sports-related programmes.
Furthermore, he reiterated that coming together and creating an enviable infrastructure for its Member Federation is a good avenue that young athletes have been missing.
“Together, we are strengthening infrastructure for our Member Federations, opening doors that young athletes have never been able to walk through, and ensuring the legacy of the Doha 2019 World Athletics Championships continues to reach well beyond Qatar,” he elaborated.
The ‘Aim Beyond ‘ initiative shall embrace inclusivity, especially to athletes living with disabilities, something that will make sporting activities transcend boundaries easily.
