Beyond zero half marathon 2019 edition kicked off

The Beyond Zero 21Km half Marathon has kicked off at Nyayo Stadium Nairobi. 

The Marathon is a project initiated by First Lady Margret Kenyatta, to help women and mothers to overcome health challenges.

It comes just a day after women’s day celebration on Friday and shows what women can do if empowered

The Marathon kicked off at 6 am Sunday, covering a distance of 21km.

Presiding over the marathon was First Lady Margret Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto.

Other leaders participating include Governor Kivutha Kibwana, health Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki, among others.

The race kicked off at Nyayo stadium, with athletes racing through Mombasa road to Waiyaki way, Museum, back to CBD, Bunyala road, Lusaka road and back to Mombasa road via South B to Nyayo stadium.

This is the fourth edition of the Beyond Zero Marathon.
