GOMYCODE launches AI program to power Kenya’s digital workforce

Nairobi, Kenya – GOMYCODE Kenya has launched “GOMYCODE for Business,” a new upskilling programme for companies.

Members of the GOMYCODE Kenya team during the launch of GOMYCODE for Business and the company’s two-year anniversary celebration in Nairobi.

The programme aims to close the digital skills gap and prepare teams for the AI-driven world of work.

The launch was announced during GOMYCODE Kenya’s second anniversary celebration in Nairobi. It marks a shift for the fast-growing tech education company – from training individuals to transforming entire organisations.

Across Kenya, companies are racing to adopt modern technologies, yet many struggle to find workers with the necessary digital skills.

The World Bank’s Kenya Digital Economy Report 2024 found that 70% of companies view digital skills shortages as a major obstacle.

GOMYCODE aims to change this. For two years, the company has helped young professionals build tech careers. Now it is taking that mission into the corporate world.

“The skills gap is no longer just a youth employment issue – it is a business survival issue,” said Mellany Msengezi, Country Director at GOMYCODE Kenya. “We are helping companies get ready for the next wave of digital disruption.”

The new programme offers modular, hands-on training in AI literacy, data analytics, cloud technology, and modern software tools. It is designed for all working arrangements – remote, in-office, or hybrid.

The emphasis is not only on learning, but also on achieving real-world results. Teams are taught to apply new skills directly to business challenges.

Early pilots are already underway across the finance, logistics, manufacturing, and healthcare sectors in Africa.

“The demand is there,” said GOMYCODE CEO and Founder Yahya Bouhlel. “What is missing is training built around business needs – not the other way round.”

Kenya’s young population and vibrant tech scene make it a rising innovation hub. However, experts warn that without digital upskilling, companies could lose their global competitiveness.

GOMYCODE aims to prevent that. The company wants to be seen not just as a coding school, but as a strategic partner in shaping Kenya’s digital future.
