MIGORI, Kenya – With the clock fast ticking towards the 2027 elections, Uriri parliamentary aspirant Eng. George Oywer has unveiled part of his campaign manifesto, which he says is aimed at transforming the dairy sector in the area.
Eng. Oywer, a seasoned Development Advocate, observed that he will take advantage of the idle parcel of land in the Oyani area in Uriri Constituency to set up a modern dairy farming project.

“There are over 900 acres of government land lying idle in Oyani. Interestingly, this land once supported dairy farming; however, today it is silent. But it does not have to remain this way. We can bring Oyani back to life,” Eng. Oywer said.
He announced that once elected into office, through a public-private partnership (PPP), he will introduce modern dairy farming in the area, while highlighting the benefits of the project to his constituents.
“And this is possible because I have the experience and knowledge to deliver such projects,” added Eng. Oywer.
Eng. Oywer lamented that today in Uriri, young people have no jobs, farmers are struggling, milk is not enough, and markets are unreliable, while assuring his dedication to his people to rewrite the narrative.
“The Oyani dairy project will bring over 5000 dairy cows, pasture and animal feed, training and support for farmers and improve dairy farming in our villages. It will also lead to reliable milk collection every day,” explained the engineer.
How will Uriri farmers benefit from the dairy farming project?
According to Eng. Oywer, farmers across the Uriri constituency in Migori County will be part of this project.
“Farmers can keep their own dairy cows; they can grow and supply their own animal feeds, with milk being collected from their homestead every day and then prompt payments made directly to their mobile phones,” added Eng. Oywer.
He reiterated that this will lead to a steady income for thousands of families in the area.
“At Oyani, a modern dairy processing plant will be built, producing fresh milk, yoghurt, mala, butter, and cheese. No more selling raw milk at low prices. Value addition means more money stays in Uriri,” assured the political aspirant.

This ambitious project, according to Eng. Oywer will also create jobs for farmers, youth, drivers, factory workers and technicians.
“Thousands of livelihoods will be supported through this project. This is a clear plan. Eng. Oywer knows how to make it happen. Support leadership that brings development,” said George Odira Rihana, a resident of Uriri, while reacting to the matter.
Eng. Oywer receives a major boost ahead of the 2027 polls
This comes when Eng. Oywer’s political journey to the 14th Parliament received a shot in the arm after Helenz Aoko, a political activist in Uriri, threw her weight behind his bid.
“I have henceforth made a bold and resolute decision, a decision driven by vision, hope, and an unshakeable belief in transformative leadership, to stand firmly with Eng. George Oywer,” Aoko posted on her official Facebook page.

She said that her decision was not just a choice; “it is a declaration of faith in a leader whose vision for Uriri is clear, progressive, and unstoppable. I believe, without hesitation, that Eng. George Oywer shall redefine the destiny of URIRI and usher in a new era of development, unity, and prosperity.”
Aoko maintained that the time for doubt was over, stating that the time for action was now.
“Together, we rise. Together, we build. Together, we secure the future of URIRI, forever. URIRI must move forward, and the way is Eng. George Oywer,” Aoko further said.
