Manchester United bid to stay at the top four place in the Premier League table was shuttered on Wednesday, following a 0-2 defeat by Pep Guardiola’s men at Old Trafford.

This comes barely a week after the Red Devils suffered a 4-0 defeat at Goodison Park, and Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes what his predecessor Jose Mourinho said.

Things have not worked his way since he was appointed permanently as United Manager; -ranging from Champions League ouster and now a consecutive defeat in less than a week, with the opponents taking home clean sheet points.

Solskjaer admits attitude from the players is killing the club slowly and they know it.

Speaking to sky sports, he said that the players don’t want to defend themselves from the manace.

“The players know it and they don’t defend it themselves, they are good lads and we just keep on working on changing some of these attitudes.” said Solskjaer.

He urged his squad to work hard in learning ‘to pick up the mantle or leave it.’

“If you are not willing to learn, if you are not willing to pick up the mantle or when you’re left out that means there are two things you can do: you can either leave it or you can work harder to get back in to tell me and the club and you team-mates that you want to get back into the team.” he said.

“They have got decisions to make the ones who feel they aren’t getting the chances they deserve.”

United host Chelsea on Sunday 28 following away match at Huddersfield Town on May 5 and finally play their last 2018/19 season match against Cardiff on May 12.

Meanwhile, Arsenal suffered a 3-1 defeat by Wolverhampton, falling back to place five in the table, with 66 points.
