Liverpool FC have been eliminated from the Champions League after a 2-0 quarter-final loss to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on Tuesday, April 14.

The English Premier League side lost to PSG 4-0 on aggregate following PSG’s Ousmane Dembele’s 2-goals in the second half of the match at Anfield.
How Liverpool-PSG match went down
Arne Slot’s men were up in the first half with a 57% ball possession against PSG’s 43%.
However, Dembele’s 72nd and 91st-minute scores changed the atmosphere at Anfield, sending the Reds home.
Liverpool tried in the first half, but Virgil van Dijk’s shot was cleared by PSG’s Marquinhos as Alexis Mac Allister’s penalty was revoked following a VAR review.
PSG will face off against Bayern Munich or Real Madrid in the Champions League last four.
What’s next for Liverpool’s trophy campaign
The Reds’ chances of winning the Champions League trophy were cut short by Dembele’s 2-goals, and now their only hope lies in securing the top five slot in the Premier League to earn a Champions League return ticket.
Liverpool is ranked 5th with 52 points after playing 32 games in the English Premier League 2025/26 season.
Arne Slot’s side races behind Aston Villa and Manchester United, with 3 points less and ahead of Chelsea, who have 48 points.
